DAY 8- No Ol' Outdated Santa Boots for Me

 Hola CHICsters,

Today is DAY 8 of The 12 DAYS OF HOLIDAY CHEER and I wanted to share with you some of the great deals at major retailers on my!!! Granted I love a good thrift or sales rack find...but the moment designer quality shoes go on sale for 30-50% off my heart skip a beat. Let's face the facts that the quality of designer shoes and handbags are impeccable!! If I can get a great all in LOL. Top designer retailers are having HUGE deals this season that would make Mrs Clause herself want to trade in those Ol' Outdated Santa Boots :-)

Shop until your heart and feet are content! Hahaha

Does this picture describe how you're feeling right now? You're finally done with all of your holiday shopping, bought a couple cute dresses and new heels so you can go to that office party and dance the night away. Then it dawns on you, that you've overlooked one very important part of the equation. Your hair!!! What are you going to do with it?

No worries, I've been figuring this out for ya #thankmelater LOL. Depending on whether you want an updo, cascading curls, or to wear your hair bone straight here are 10 looks selected especially for my CHICsters.

As seen on the BEAUTIFUL Nicole Ritchie, a messy updo is one of my fave looks. Actually you can wear this every day as well. You can even add a headband to it for extra flair!

Loose barrel curls can be achieved by wrapping your hair in a spiral effect around a curling wand.

This style is both pretty and easy to recreate. Start with hair brushed down in an "umbrella pattern" all around the head. Then holding hair close to root use BOTH hands to twist hair up and inward around the entire head. Secure with bobby pins and add some hair bling and you'll be ready to greet the world.

For my natural or curly haired girls, brush or use your hands to pull your hair up along the back and sides. Secure with bobby pins and fluff some of your girls forward and wala...

Straight and layered hair can do no wrong. Go get that well deserved salon blowout or get the look at home using a round brush and hairdryer.

Half up..Half down? Yes please!! Add a headband or DIY one yourself by wrapping satin ribbon around your hair.

There is a certain daring allure when a woman has cascading curls on one side while the hair is slicked smoothly behind the ear on the other.Perfection!

Why not wear a simple braid? Side swept bangs and a loose french-braid cascading along one shoulder is a look that will definitely turn heads..Trust me!

Feeling any better yet about your holiday hair choices? One of these will work for you. If you're short on time a top bun, or lower bun always does the trick. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Hope you all enjoyed this post and tag me on instagram so I can see all of your holiday hair do's in full swing :-)

DAY #4 of 12 DAYS OF HOLIDAY CHEER: Wondering how to pull off one of those infamous UGLY Holiday Sweater parties without actually wearing the ugliest sweater in the world? Well here's an option. Spruce up that tacky sweater with a full skirt and some sparkling heels. Obviously it's not something you'd probably wear again...but under the circumstances at least you'll probably be the cutest lady at the event :-)

Hey My CHICsters,

It's Day #3 of our 12 DAYS OF HOLIDAY CHEER series and what's better to talk about that HOLIDAY GIFTS? Are you done shopping as yet? If you're a procrastinator like myself, then the answer to that is Hec Noooo!!! LOL I still have so much to do, and I'm starting to get anxiety because time waits on no one. I do this every year, so I should be a PP by now (Professional Procrastinator) . After this weekend, that's it! No more shopping *covers face*, now how unbelievable is that? Well I mean no more holiday gift shopping.

As we are well aware, our nails are a great way to give a CHIC impression on someone. I used to be a french manicure, neutral pink/peach kind of gal ..borrrrriiiiinggggg LOL. But since the beginning of 2013 I've stepped out of my 'Box of Boredom" and added some spice to my nail color selection.
The holiday season is a great time to add some sparkle to your outfit, and YES your manicure IS a part of your outfit.

Here are a few cheerful designs that I found on the Internet that I just had to share with you.

Aren't these nails just so festive and fun!! Yes I am well aware that some of your employers will not be as accepting to these radical nails, so how about instead of putting designs on all 10 tips, you just add a pop of shimmer to just one? When I do this I usually just polish my "ring finger" with my color pop choice. And if you're job is even more of a bore than that ...just quit!...LOL I'm kidding!!! hahaha You can still add some polish fun to your life by doing a holiday pedicure instead. Now who wouldn't love to come home from a long day of work at a stuffy corporation that stifles your desires to showoff your MERRY MANI *side eye*, take off your shoes and WaLa....Pedicure Perfection! *insert the big smile you'll have here* Trust me on this...when I was in the military, fancy manicures was a NO-GO, but they had no control over what was hidden in my combat boots! Thus started my love for dazzling pedicures :-)

OK CHICsters, hope you're inspired to go try something different with your nails this holiday. If you do, be sure to tag me on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter so I can check em out.

Hey There CHICsters,

Don't you just love this time of the year? And this is coming from someone that doesn't even celebrate the religious aspect of Christmas, but I adore the whole Santa, Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, Holiday lights, and tree trimming aspect of the holiday. Which gave me the idea to do a 12 DAYS OF HOLIDAY CHEER segment to the blog featuring posts of things "holiday inspired" daily up until December 25th. WooHoo!!!

I thought I'd start this 12 DAYS OF HOLIDAY CHEER segment with some of my favesssss...

Wondering how to pull off wearing white during the winter season? Here are a few key pieces to bring your look together using your outerwear, shoes, and handbag. Whoever said you can't pull off white after Labor Day just doesn't understand style!!

December 10, 2013

Well it's that time of year where whether you celebrate these holidays or not you still end up going to at least one holiday shindig, or another with family, coworkers, or friends.  Oddly enough, although I am quite friendly I become a little shy in large groups so I tend to wear what I call a "conversation starter" to strike up a convo and break the ice with strangers.  This sweatshirt albeit casual, I thought the clever statement is fun, and paired with glam accessories, a smokey eye, and a sequin maxi...I think it more than says, "Holiday party here I come!"

Oh How do I love the 80's! Big hair, shoulder pads, sweater dresses, that's so my thing LOL. My fave show as a kid was The Cosby Show and when I ran into this oversized sweater while thrifting...I had to have it. It gave me the whole "Vanessa Huxtable" vibe, one of the characters in that show whom many family members compared me to. Paired it with simple leggings, cognac riding boots and a coordinating bag and Wala!

December 7, 2013

Hey there CHICsters,

Hope everyone is enjoying this weekend. The weather here has been so bipolar in Atlanta that one day you can go out with a tee and jeans, the next you need a turtleneck and a fur coat. I don't understand it at all!!! Nonetheless, yesterday was in the 70's here so I took full advantage of it :-)

December 3, 2013

Hey there CHICsters,

It's December, that wonderful time of the year when everywhere you turn there are houses all lit up and decorated, people are full of holiday cheer, and I turn into half human/ half alligator with THEEE driest skin known to all my kind!! *yes it's a tad bit dramatic but I swear it's no over exaggeration*

Chile when I tell you my skin is so gorgeous and supple in the summer, but somewhere around mid October my legs starts to resemble that of some scaly creature that crawled out of the Louisiana Bayou *side eye* #AintNobodyGotTimeForThat

But, after trying different skin, hair, and body products for yearssss, I've finally found some products that I started using last Fall and amazingly enough I am no longer Mrs Crocodile Dundee LOL.

Here are my tried and true products for dry lips, body, face and hair...Muy Importante! If you have dry lips, out in public...trying to hold any form of conversation with me...I cannot take you seriously! LOL #1 Pet Peeve Ughh!!
